Judges

Become a PCA Judge

→ In order to become a judge for the PCA, you first must become a PCA member

→ You must be 18 years or older to become a PCA Certified Judge

→ Your PCA membership must be current to judge an event

→ Judges will have to be logged in the website to sign up for an event

→ Judges will be able to sign up for an event 60 days prior to an event

→ Judges may be assigned as a Judges Table Lead, a Tasting Judge, or Turn-in Judge 

→ Judges for the Finals Tables will be selected by the PCA Rep

→ There will be no alcoholic beverages allowed at the Judges tables, only water

→ Judges cannot have their spouse be a cook participant in the same event

→ Judges meetings for an event are mandatory, and time will be determined by the PCA Rep

→ Judges classes will be set up as needed throughout the year

→ Click on the “Judges Classes” calendar below to see when and where the classes are being held

→ Once you become a Certified Judge, you will be eligible to judge any PCA event

→ Cooks for events are welcome to sign up for judges classes. The class will take you through the entire judging process, which could give you a leg up on the competition

USA Certified Judging Classes

→ Cost for the Judges Classes will be $50 per person and will include:

→ Background on different types of pizza, cooking competitions, and different cooking methods.

→ How to judge and score the 5 main categories for pizza…Appearance, Construction, Crust, Taste, and Overall Impression

→ How to judge PCA Ancillary Categories

→ How to be a Table Lead

→ Pizza tasting – pizzas will be cooked on site, to give you a first-hand opportunity to judge and put your new skills to the test
